Black Sands Beach Picnic
RESCHEDULED: Saturday, July 20th, Noon to 4 p.m.

steaksWhat is it they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? It seems the beach has already been reserved by another large group for the 13th, so the KYC picnic has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 20th — yes, it is reserved for us.

From the rear commodore:

Dear Members,

Our third annual Black Sands Beach picnic will be Saturday July 20th from noon to 4pm.  The club will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers.  We will also have plates, napkins and forks.  You may want to bring your long handled forks for cooking over the fire.  Please bring something to share and whatever you’d like as a beverage.

The Ryans and McQuerrys will get a fire going.  We will also have a skiff to bring you to the beach.  We will have a radio so you can call us if you need a ride from your boat to the beach.

If you haven’t been to Black Sands recently, there is a very nice shelter built by First City Rotary Club when Alan Rockwood was the president.  Dick Miller also did a lot of the construction.  There is a nice picnic table under the shelter and a porta-potty down a short trail, so it is quite comfortable.

We hope to see lots of people at the picnic!!
Judith and Donna
